Ways to save money during summertime

WAYS TO SAVE MONEY DURING SUMMERTIME

Summertime is always a pain for so many especially for Texans, in this post ill share some easy ways to save energy during this time of the year, when we see a big increase in the energy bill.

1-CLEAR YOUR AC UNITS

Since our AC units are located outside of the house, this tent is surrounded by weeds and overgrowing trees, it is essential for the healthy functioning of the units to be in a clear area.

2-TRY TO AVOID THE USE OF THE OVEN.

I love to bake, it is like therapy to me, but it is not a secret that the oven uses a lot of energy on top of heating the interior of the house, making the AC work harder during the time you are baking and until the oven cooks down, using an Air fryer instead, of the oven will save time, energy and money.

Exist several in the market to choose from, but my favorite so far has been this

Amazon.com: Ninja SP101 Digital Air Fry Countertop Oven with 8-in-1 Functionality, Flip Up & Away Capability for Storage Space, with Air Fry Basket, Wire Rack & Crumb Tray, Silver: Home & Kitchen

This is my personal preference, I do not receive any benefits from Ninja or Amazon

3-EMBRACE THE DAYLIGHT

This is the time of the year when you can take advantage of the extended daylight, so turning off the lights inside your home, will help to decrease the usage of energy, therefore the bill to pay.

4-WASH YOUR CLOTHES WITH COLD WATER INSTEAD OF HOT WATER.

While you are using your washer change the setup from hot to cold water, and this is the way; The most modern washers on the market, use an average of 50 lt of water per load, think about heating that amount of water during summer time, yes that’s a lot of energy, so make sure that you treat the stains on your others prior placing them on the washer machine, and relax, cold water is as good as hot water while you are making a load.

5-DRY YOUR TOWELS AND BEDDING OUTSIDE

I know what you are thinking, ‘we are not in the 80’s’ and it is true, but taking advantage of the high temperatures outside to dry the heavy being and towels is a game changer, as far as your HOA rules allowed you, this is a perfect way to save energy from the dryer machine.

Happy savings everyone!
